Supporting studies and decontamination work for a brownfield – Fonds vert

The reclamation of brownfields is essential to reconcile urban and territorial planning with the "zero net artificialization" (ZAN) trajectory. It requires a need for knowledge and anticipation at all scales of the project.

To this end, ADEME supports public and private actors in territorial processes and in the management of projects to repurpose polluted brownfields, or those at risk of pollution, through two financial mechanisms:

• Studies for the integration of brownfields into territorial processes:

To anticipate the consideration of pollution risks, ADEME supports studies to inventory brownfields, identify the risk of pollution, determine mutability potential and plan reconversions at the territorial scale.

• Studies and decontamination work for a brownfield – Fonds vert:

The process of repurposing a brownfield involves a fundamental prerequisite of knowing the state of pollution, in order to define pollution management strategies adapted to the intended use and project, in accordance with the national methodology for managing polluted sites and soils.
