Supporting brownfield redevelopment projects through the financing of studies and decontamination work, in compliance with the national methodology for managing sites and soils

Reclaiming brownfields is essential to reconcile urban and territorial planning with the Zero Net Artificialization (ZAN) trajectory. It requires a need for knowledge and anticipation at all scales of the project. To this end, ADEME supports public and private actors in territorial processes and in the management of redevelopment projects for brownfields that are polluted, or at risk of pollution, through two financial mechanisms:

• Studies and decontamination work for a brownfield - Fonds vert

1. Studies for the integration of brownfields into territorial processes
   To anticipate the consideration of pollution risks, ADEME supports studies to inventory brownfields, identify the risk of pollution, determine mutability potential and plan redevelopments at the territorial scale.
