Supporting the funding of studies to inventory industrial brownfields, identify pollution risk, and determine mutability potential

The reclamation of brownfields is essential for the sustainable development of territories and for moving towards the Zero Net Artificialization (ZAN) objective. Implementing this reclamation of brownfields requires a need for knowledge and anticipation at all stages of the project.

ADEME supports public and private actors in territorial processes and in the management of polluted brownfield redevelopment projects through two financial mechanisms:

1. Studies for the integration of brownfields into territorial processes (this mechanism)
   
2. Preliminary studies and decontamination work for a brownfield - Fonds vert

ADEME primarily supports local authorities in charge of territorial planning that have the ambition to integrate brownfields at risk of pollution or polluted brownfields into their territorial project.

Depending on your needs, eligible services may include:

Project management assistance (AMO).

The inventory processes, including Urban Historical Inventory (IHU), to identify and locate former industrial sites at risk of pollution at the scale of territories or neighborhoods, for example, to integrate them into urban planning documents.
