Eco-design investments to improve environmental performance

Initiatives to improve the environmental performance of products and services are being deployed in France within companies. They contribute to creating an offer that allows differentiation, is more respectful of the environment, and is available to consumers or buyers.

Investment projects resulting from an approach to reduce the impacts of a product or service, via a multi-criteria life cycle approach, carried out by the product or service provider, can be supported by ADEME.

ADEME supports:

• Investments in proven technology for the production or commercialization of an eco-designed product, process, or service. These investments may aim, depending on the sector, to obtain eco-labels recognized by ADEME: European Ecolabel for products in the sectors concerned, AB (organic farming) for the food sector.
• Investments and work (production and testing of prototypes, pre-production, etc.) on an innovative solution aimed at the production or commercialization of an eco-designed product or service. These projects may fall, depending on the level of innovation, under experimental development or process innovation.
