Supporting carpooling areas in their multimodal dimension

It is now necessary to decarbonize our mobility by reducing the share of single-occupancy vehicle use, and by giving a greater place to active modes and taking into account the performance of public transport and carpooling.

The Region's objective is to encourage this shared mode of transport by developing carpooling parking lots that integrate a multimodal dimension.

Local authorities (Departments, municipalities, EPCI...)

The Region's funding for carpooling area projects therefore implies that 2 conditions are met:

• the location of the area on or in the immediate vicinity of a ZOU! network line or public transport stop to promote intermodality with regional road services;
• the integration of all or part of the following equipment giving these areas a multimodal dimension:
  • covered and secure bicycle parking;
  • multimodal information panels;
  • electric charging stations (for light vehicles and/or bicycles);
  • secure pedestrian path to the public transport stop.
