Aid for publishing books

Eligibility

Projects supported must be of departmental interest, either through the theme addressed or the link with the Department's cultural policy. The publication of the work or journal must concern the artistic field of literature and books: practical, heritage, academic, professional, artistic (photographs, etc.) books are not eligible for this departmental aid. Priority will be given to applications presenting professional guarantees (publisher, professional distributor, distribution in bookstores). The originality of the project and its promotion (meetings, fairs, training, exhibitions, library events…), the distribution methods of the work, the editorial and formal qualities, as well as scientific reliability, will also be taken into account for the allocation of departmental aid.

Eligible expenditure

The eligible expenditure retained by the Department will be the costs of producing the work remaining the responsibility of the project owner (author's rights, iconographic reproduction rights, printing, professional distributor), after deduction of other aid acquired elsewhere. Excluded from the calculation methods of eligible expenditure are promotion costs, travel and accommodation expenses, and postal charges.
