What is LEADER?

LEADER (Liaison Entre Actions de Développement de l’Economie Rurale) is a European program that falls under the second pillar of the Common Agricultural Policy / EAFRD Fund.

Its objective is to support the development of projects in rural areas that boost the territory. Territories eligible for the LEADER program are called LAGs (Local Action Groups). Seine-et-Marne Attractivité animates and manages the LEADER program of LAG SUD 77.

The LAG is the local point of contact for project leaders: it provides technical and administrative support for their applications. It is a consultation body that brings together public and private stakeholders representative of the territory.

What are the criteria for awarding LEADER program aid?

The project must fall within one of the action sheets of the LEADER program.

The award of LEADER aid is subject to obtaining public co-financing (State, Region, municipality, etc.): a minimum of 20% of the eligible amount. A project can be subsidized within the limit of the public aid rate defined for the operation. Expenses and works must not be undertaken before the managing authority (Île-de-France Region) issues an acknowledgment of receipt of a complete file.
