Understanding the basics of signalized intersections (training)
France · FR
Who can apply Commune · Intercommunalité / Pays
Signalized intersections are by nature a place where different modes of transport intersect in an often very constrained environment. They ensure the sharing of time between the different branches of the intersection. The design of signalized intersections is done in two dimensions: space but also time, unlike that of other intersections which is limited to the spatial dimension. This leads to very specific design rules that are often counter-intuitive for neophytes. Once put into service, signalized intersections must be monitored, their operation regularly updated, and appropriate maintenance performed. This training is a module for acculturation to the different aspects of the life cycle of a signalized intersection. Educational objectives At the end of this module, trainees will be able to: Decipher the vocabulary specific to signalized intersections Understand the different stages of the life cycle of signalized intersections: from design to operational monitoring Know the different regulations and standards applicable to signalized intersections
Developing walking in the city: issues, planning and development tools (training)
France · FR
Who can apply Commune · Intercommunalité / Pays
Whether in metropolitan centers, peri-urban communes, or the towns of less dense territories, the potential for developing walking remains significant today. Walking is nevertheless a virtuous mode of transport, good for health and the climate, efficient, flexible, and inclusive. It is also a way of discovering cities and territories, with real economic and social benefits. It allows one to apprehend spaces differently, to stroll, recharge, entertain, meet people, play sports, shop, "live together"... Developing "100% walkable" cities requires creating the most favorable conditions possible for pedestrians. It is essential to design facilities that are both accessible and safe, comfortable and attractive, but also to use all planning tools to facilitate pedestrian continuity and the city of short distances. Based on feedback, recommendations for public space design, and participatory exchanges, Cerema offers you, as part of this training, concrete keys to help you develop walking in the city. Educational objectives Understand the multiple issues and advantages of walking Better understand the needs of pedestrians, particularly in terms of...

Training in safety diagnostics at level crossings - Face-to-face training
France · FR
Who can apply Intercommunalité / Pays · Département
DESCRIPTION: Level crossings (PN) are meeting points between a railway line and a road, the management of which falls under very different modes and consequently represent high-risk areas.
