Promoting tourism attractiveness focused on maritime culture and biodiversity
France · Normandie
Who can apply Commune · Intercommunalité / Pays · Département · Etablissement public dont services de l'Etat · Entreprise publique locale (Sem, Spl, SemOp)
Due to its territorial roots and maritime culture, fishing and shellfish farming production activities are an important asset for the tourist attractiveness of Calvados. Thus, many producers wish to open their doors to tourist activities to find new outlets for their products, but also to give a more realistic image of their profession. The natural and historical maritime heritage, including gastronomy, also meets these new expectations for quality and sustainable tourism.
Promoting the attractiveness and diversification of fishing and aquaculture professions
France · Normandie
Who can apply Commune · Intercommunalité / Pays · Département · Etablissement public dont services de l'Etat · Entreprise publique locale (Sem, Spl, SemOp)
Despite real dynamism, fishing and aquaculture professions are little known in the Calvados department. The workforce is sometimes limited, preventing businesses from making the most of local production. Many professionals are therefore asking themselves about the attractiveness of their profession to younger generations and the sustainability of their know-how.
Promoting excellence in fishery and aquaculture products
France · Normandie
Who can apply Commune · Intercommunalité / Pays · Département · Etablissement public dont services de l'Etat · Entreprise publique locale (Sem, Spl, SemOp)
The fishing and aquaculture sectors of Calvados provide very high-quality products, most of which are live and come from artisanal production. Lesser-known species are also present in quantity and allow access to local and quality products at an affordable price. The local population is not familiar with these products, and work to relocate the consumption of aquatic products needs to be supported. Traceability and processing are also major challenges for these sectors, both from a health and regulatory point of view and from a marketing perspective.
Computational and Data-Enabled Science and Engineering
United States · US
Who can apply Unrestricted (i.e., open to any type of entity above), subject to any clarification in text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility"
Large-scale simulations and the ability to accumulate massive amounts of data have revolutionized science and engineering. The goal of the Computational and Data-enabled Science and Engineering (CDS&E) meta-program is to identify and capitalize on opportunities for major scientific and engineering breakthroughs through new computational and data-analysis approaches and best practices. The CDS&E meta-program supports projects that harness computation and data to advance knowledge and accelerate discovery above and beyond the goals of the participating individual programs. The intellectual drivers may be in an individual discipline or cut across more than one discipline in various Divisions and Directorates. A CDS&E proposal should enable and/or utilize the development and adaptation of advances in research and infrastructure in computational and data science. The CDS&E meta-program encourages research that pushes the envelope of science and engineering through computation and data, welcoming proposals in any research area supported by the participating divisions. A proposal may address topics that develop or enable interactions among theory, computing, experiment, and observation to achieve progress on hitherto intractable science and engineering problems. Areas of emphasis for CDS&E vary by program. PIs are advised to consult the "related programs" links below before submitting. The CDS&E meta-program is not intended to replace existing programs that support projects involving computation or the analysis of large or complex data sets using established methods. Rather, proposals submitted to the CDS&E meta-program must have a significant component of computational or data science that goes well beyond what would typically be included in these programs.Any proposal submitted to the CDS&E program that is not responsive to this Program Description may be transferred to or reviewed within the context of an individual program. A proposal requesting consideration within the context of CDS&E should begin the title with the identifying acronym "CDS&E:". Supplement requests to existing awards may also be considered. A CDS&E proposal should include substantive science, engineering, or computing research. Algorithm and pilot software development supporting science and engineering may also be appropriate, depending on the program. Proposers who seek to implement proven, existing methods into robust cyberinfrastructure are referred instead to the program on Cyberinfrastructure for Sustained Scientific Innovation (CSSI). A CDS&E proposal should be submitted to one of the "Related Programs" or Divisions by the associated submission window, deadline, or target date listed in the table below. In picking the most relevant program, PIs are advised to read program descriptions and solicitations carefully and consult with cognizant Program Officers before proposal preparation. Proposal submissions outside the receiving program's scientific scope may be transferred to a different program or returned without review. Mobilizing the territory to face ecological challenges
France · FR
Who can apply Commune · Intercommunalité / Pays · Département · Etablissement public dont services de l'Etat · Entreprise publique locale (Sem, Spl, SemOp)
Local stakeholders are mobilizing around territorial climate-air-energy plans and initiatives are developing on the management of the impacts of climate change (water resources, marine submersion). However, the ecological transition is a challenge for the Pays du Bessin au Virois territory. Responding to 11 priority objectives of the SRADDET and taking into consideration the findings and scientific recommendations of the Norman IPCC, this sheet aims to support the ecological transition of the territory, so that it can reduce its environmental impacts, the adaptation of populations to climate change as well as actions to mitigate it and strengthen its energy and food autonomy. The retreat of the coastline, the preservation of the environment, the protection of natural spaces and biodiversity, the preservation of resources and reuse, are all themes that can be developed via the projects supported by this action sheet. Aid objectives: Preserve the territory's resources (water, energy, raw materials) and reduce externalities (waste, pollution, greenhouse gases). Develop autonomy and short food supply chains. Raise awareness among citizens, communities and businesses about sustainable development issues. Change the behavior of local stakeholders. Amount of aid…
Promote a diversified local and tourist economy that values local resources, know-how, and actors
France · FR
Who can apply Commune · Intercommunalité / Pays · Département · Etablissement public dont services de l'Etat · Entreprise publique locale (Sem, Spl, SemOp)
The Pays du Bessin has an unevenly distributed and dynamic economic fabric, weakened by changes in consumption patterns, competition from major centers, and, at times, a lack of cooperation between actors. This sheet aims to support the development of a more locally rooted economy and tourism, in connection with all stakeholders. The disparity of the territory between North and South is reflected in the reception of tourists and the number of tourist centers. The South suffers from a lack of visibility and attractiveness for foreign tourists. The operations supported under this action sheet are consistent with 10 objectives of the SRADDET, notably developing the service offer, safeguarding the specificities of the rural world, reducing soil artificialization and managing brownfields, and above all promoting sustainable tourism. This action sheet also takes into account the findings of the Norman IPCC in terms of biodiversity, adaptation to climate change, and air pollution. Actions supported by this action sheet can be carried out in partnership with regional parks, tourist offices, and local associations. Aid objectives: Support balanced economic and tourist development of the territory. Support projects based on the…
Develop responsible mobility, accessible to all and structured around local hubs
France · FR
Who can apply Commune · Intercommunalité / Pays · Département · Etablissement public dont services de l'Etat · Entreprise publique locale (Sem, Spl, SemOp)
Mobility in the Pays du Bessin au Virois is highly dependent on cars. This situation increases the vulnerability of fragile or isolated populations and is not sustainable in the long term given climate and energy challenges. Furthermore, the development of alternatives must be articulated with the preservation of natural and agricultural areas (land consumption). This sheet aims to support the emergence of decarbonized mobility solutions, accessible to all, but also of mechanisms to reduce forced or constrained travel in a logic of sobriety. The objectives pursued echo 10 axes of the SRADDET, in particular objective 44 which deals with new mobility practices. Naturally, this action sheet takes into account the findings of the Norman IPCC and aims to address the problems of air pollution and inequalities in access to healthcare services. Aid objectives: Propose alternatives to individual and carbon-intensive modes of transport Organize constrained travel Guarantee access to mobility for all. Plan mobility offerings on a larger scale Amount of aid: Minimum aid: 4.000€ Maximum aid: 60.000€
Promoting a creative cultural and sports life and the enhancement of heritage
France · FR
Who can apply Commune · Intercommunalité / Pays · Département · Etablissement public dont services de l'Etat · Entreprise publique locale (Sem, Spl, SemOp)
The Bessin en Virois territory is rich - in cultural dynamism illustrated by an increase in the number of local initiatives, - in built heritage that is sometimes little known and can prove to be a significant financial burden, - and in a developed associative fabric but impacted by a weakening of volunteering. In addition, the territory has significant untapped cultural development potential and sometimes suffers from a lack of identity and belonging. The operations supported under this action sheet are consistent with 4 objectives of the SRADDET, notably the development of cultural and sports offerings, the reduction of soil artificialization and the safeguarding of the specificities of the rural world. This action sheet also takes into account the findings of the Norman IPCC. Aid objectives: Revitalize and diversify the cultural and sports offering Develop and promote a territorial identity Enhance heritage in its diversity and specificities Preserve and strengthen a local associative fabric Amount of aid: Minimum aid: 4,000€ Maximum aid: 60,000€
Strengthening local services and developing the territory for a welcoming and dynamic living environment
France · FR
Who can apply Commune · Intercommunalité / Pays · Département · Etablissement public dont services de l'Etat · Entreprise publique locale (Sem, Spl, SemOp)
The Pays du Bessin en Virois benefits from a quality of life linked to an environment perceived as preserved and still little sensitive to climatic hazards (with the exception of the coastal zone exposed to marine submersion risks). It is structured around poles whose service levels differ according to the sectors, with some towns having difficulty maintaining local services (administrations, shops, care, childcare, etc.). The demographic evolution of certain areas of the territory leads to the rejuvenation, and sometimes the increase, of the population. This generates an increased demand for reception in schools and early childhood establishments. Urban development is essentially in the form of subdivisions, which raises the question of the consumption of agricultural land and the integration of neo-rural residents. An evolution of the tourist accommodation offer and a development of second homes limit the rental housing stock. The disparity of the territory between North and South is also felt in access to local services. The operations supported under this action sheet are consistent with 13 objectives of the SRADDET, notably the support for socio-demographic changes, the reduction of soil artificialization and the strengthening of centrality functions in medium-sized towns and structuring boroughs. This action sheet also takes into account…
